The Department of Clinical and Experimental Medicine (IKE) is one of the university's largest departments, with operations mainly in the Faculty of Health Sciences.
Our aim is to engage in medical and biomedical education and research of high international standing. At undergraduate level the department is responsible for most of the medical programme, the speech and language pathology programme and the medical biology programme.

We are looking for Principal Research Engineer in Molecular Pathobiology within the department of Clinical and Experimental Medicine.

Your future work assignments
Your tasks will consist of research in molecular pathobiology at the highest international level. This includes planning and conducting sophisticated molecular biology studies in a self-motivated and goal-oriented manner. You will also assist in the training of other researchers in the lab and may be asked to participate in teaching activities. Moreover, you are expected to present your research at national and international meetings.

Your qualifications
We are looking for someone whit a PhD or comparable degree in molecular biology. You should have a strong background in cell biology, protein biochemistry, Wnt signaling, and pathobiology. Previous experience of mass spectrometry, molecular cloning, cell culture, immunoblotting, immunochemistry, qPCR, luciferase reporter system, proximity ligation assay and confocal and epifluorescence microscopy is required. We also expect you to have an outstanding scientific track record primarily documented by peer-reviewed articles in high impact journals and personal research grants. Preferably you have teaching experience as well as previous supervision experience at the graduate and post-graduate level. Familiarity with statistics and data analysis software packages is also meriting.

The applicant must show great initiative and have excellent communication skills. As you will be in an international environment good knowledge in both spoken and written English is a requirement. Furthermore, you are balanced and performance oriented, well structured and analytical, while you also have good interpersonal skills. Emphasis will be placed on personal qualities and suitability.
