We are now looking for a Principal Innovation Manager at the Innovation Lab, who will lead innovation activities. You will work in the Business Innovation & Foresight team together with other Innovation Managers, Service Designers, and our Foresight Manager.
The role
As a Principal Innovation Manager, you initiate and lead innovation of new services and solutions all the way from identifying problems, challenges, and opportunities in the transport sector, through idea generation, to establishment of new ventures.
You will:
Lead the innovation and new growth activities from discovery to acceleration of market-tested services concepts within our focus areas
Empower your multidisciplinary teams with your experience in business models, leadership, entrepreneurship, and service management
Identify and validate new opportunities for service business enabled by digital technologies and thereby create new business for the Volvo Group
Build and actively leverage collaboration networks and ecosystem partners into the innovation and venture initiatives
Formulate and communicate new business propositions and plans to Volvo Group leaders
Your profile
You should have proven experience from:
Leading cross functional teams in different phases from idea development to commercialization
Proactively identifying, packaging, and communicating new business opportunities
Working with start-ups and incubators
Customer domains related to the Volvo Group business as logistics, construction, mining, or public transport
Management Consulting, Innovation Management, or having built your own company
All aspects of building new digital businesses, including strategy, go-to-market plans, and technologies
Deep understanding of methods such as business model design, design thinking, business strategy and lean start-up methodology
Understanding of market trends and how to benefit from them in designing our propositions
Your personal characteristics should include:
High entrepreneurial drive with strong focus on delivering new customer values, executing on goals and a hands-on mentality
Being a team player
Getting energy from both strategizing and practical testing with customers
Network, communicate, and present with ease
Getting things done with humility, integrity, and creativity
Like to work in a fast paced, multicultural, and diverse environment

You have a master's degree or equivalent as the basis for your career, and you are fluent in English. International business experience is a merit, and you must have a valid work permit for Sweden.
We expect at least five years of experience in similar roles.
