Craftsmanship & Durability Centre is a knowledge centre providing engineering support to our car projects in all stages from concept development to final testing. We provide technical recommendations and requirements, performs testing to verify if the product is within given requirement and if not helps to modify the product. We work in different complexity levels from component to complete vehicle, and analyses are made both virtually by our CAE groups and in physically tests.



Our group Testing Chassis & Propulsion Installation together with the CAE groups supports the design department in their product development from concept to final testing. We work on the whole "platform" but our focus is chassis and propulsion installations.

Our work covers a wide range from test method development, product optimization, product verification and experience feedback in to the next project all in the field of physical testing.



We have many new challenges due to the electrification of Volvo vehicles and we are now looking for an experienced Analysis/Test Engineer to support the development of durability testing with electrical and active systems.



Main responsibilities
Participate in car design from concept to final verification.
Address needs for test method development and to lead such development projects.
Durability testing of components and systems with electric and hydraulic test equipment.
Analyse damages in component from own test or customer used cars.
Report results.



Required qualifications
M.S.c. within Mechanical Engineering, focus on applied mechanics or strength
Driver's license for Cars (B)
Knowledge in Matlab, Simulink
Mechanical test experience



We welcome candidates with knowledge of measurement technology, transducers and data acquisition systems. Further, knowledge in fatigue and damage analysis is meritorious primarily concerning metallic materials. Also, experience in FEA and computer simulations in ADAMS is considered an advantage.
