The Exhaust Aftertreatment System (EATS) department within Powertrain Engineering Sweden is responsible for the global platform development of exhaust after treatment systems for Volvo Group's different products around the world. We are about 80 passionate and highly skilled engineers on a mission to reduce the environmental impact of global transportation. Together with our colleagues around the world we take full system responsibility.
In the Exhaust Aftertreatment Hardware Components Group we are now seeking a Principal Engineer to our Urea Dosing System (UDS) HW team. As system engineer you will be a key contributor for integrating the UDS into the overall Engine &EATS system. Defining/balancing the system requirements and be actively involved in the Engine & EATS performance testing are the key deliverables. Evaluation of new technical concepts, follow industry trends and IP landscape in the technology field is also part of work. The development activities will be performed in close cooperation with other functions internally and with external suppliers or partners like universities/institutes.
Main responsibilities
Define and balancing system requirements and design
Evaluate and optimize the system performance/integration
Evaluation and assessment of new emerging technologies
Develop and maintain the technical global network with peers
Generate new knowledge and continuously improve our ways of working
Required qualifications
MSc. or PhD. in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Chemical Engineering
Experience from engine and aftertreatment technology development
Experience in engine and aftertreatment testing
Good collaboration skills
Good verbal and written communication skills in English
Travel
The position will include occasional travelling within our global organization and to our suppliers.
