The Group Electrical Design is part of the section Electrical System Architecture. The group's responsibility is to develop the electrical distribution system with mechanisms that balance and limits electrical power consumption and the distribution aspects of communication properties for each electrical component and system in all conditions where the car are used. Personal safety in Hybrid vehicles as well as protecting the electrical distributions system against abnormal use or errors in the system is other areas of our responsibility.
As Principal Engineer you will together with your colleges be responsible for develop the electrical design solution in the car. This means that you will define solutions based on the electrical architecture mechanisms in a fully distributed electrical system as well as received legal, attribute and customer function, system and component requirements. You will participate in the overall requirement balancing process to handle conflicts with other requirements and you will act towards other electrical engineers or designers to ensure full understanding of the solution. You will work in close collaboration with the test group to ensure that requirements are testable and that the solutions work as intended. You will act as a mentor for our team and cross the R&D organisation in the area of electrical distribution system solutions. You will also be a part of develop our process/methods and tools as well as our team members.
Main responsibilities
• Initiate, lead and drive research based on Electrical distribution needs to fulfill future requirements
• Perform deep dive investigations on subsystem and architecture level to reach reliability, cost and performance in the electrical system
• Act as mentor and tutor
• Lead and coordinate solutions cross platforms
• Act, lead and guide our team members to excellence in execution in our projects
Required qualifications
• M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or corresponding competence gained by experience
• Several years of experience in system development process
• Several years of experience in Electrical System Development
• Several years of experience in Electrical Distribution System Development
• Customer focused as well as god knowledge in customer behavior
• High ability to assess different technical solutions
• Drivers license B
• Fluent in English, written and spoken
• Knowledge and experience in Saber harness, Saber simulation, Matlab amd Simulink is meritorious
