Join Chassis Technology as Principal Engineer for Wheels and Tires in the exciting journey to take this technical area to the next level!
This position offers you the challenge to define the overall strategies for the Wheels and Tires area, lead the development work, both for new solutions as well as maintenance, and at the same time secure global alignment between relevant stakeholders.
About the role
The area of Wheels and Tires is becoming more strategic with new strict legislations related to both fuel and noise emissions. In addition to this, there will be new development needed to secure the right wheel and tire technology in the area of electro mobility.
This is a role with a global responsibility for the Wheels and Tires area, and you are responsible to define the strategy and anchor this strategy through the Product System Road map with the support from local site stakeholders.
Furthermore, you will manage the collaboration and partnership with our suppliers together with Purchasing and in addition act as Chassis Technology interface towards the different brands to deploy the strategy, supported by local site stakeholders.
It will be in your responsibility to lead the knowledge management community for Wheels and Tires and also be Volvo representative in external conferences & symposiums, and stay aware of the trends and technologies affecting Wheels and Tires.
The role will report to the Global Technology Manager for Brake System and Vehicle Control (BSVC) within Chassis Technology organization.

In order to succeed in your new role we think you have:
MSc Degree in Mechanical engineering, Mechatronics or similar
>5 year experience from product development- or purchasing roles within the automotive industry
Excellent communication skills
Fluent in English, both written and spoken
Leadership experience is a merit
Experience from roles within purchasing or product development related to Wheels and Tires is a merit
