What do we do?
The Combustion system control group is responsible for developing control strategies for engine related functions for heavy duty engines for the complete Volvo Group.
We have many interesting challenges in front of us to develop advanced control strategies to drastically lower the emissions and fuel consumption from our engines. We work towards a future with fossil free transportation (including hydrogen combustion and biofuels).
We are responsible for the entire development chain from advance engineering, through product development into maintenance phase.
What will you do?
We need a control systems engineer that can lead the work to setup the combustion control strategies for the upcoming engine concepts. You will work closely together with the teams developing the functionality and have interface to several related parts of the organization.
You will lead our control strategy roadmap by balancing different stakeholders needs. You will be the control expert in the team and shall support other developers in advanced control issues.
You will set up guidelines for control strategies and contribute to SW structure decisions. You will work with system design, SW Implementation, verification and validation. You will have a direct impact on current and future products from the Volvo Group.

In addition to the above, aspects that are important merits to us are:
Ph.D. in control theory area or M.Sc with several years of relevant experience
Significant hands-on experience from development of model-based control (for embedded systems)
Experience from development of combustion engines
Experience of leading technical tasks
Fluent English, written and spoken
