We are now looking for a Principal Biomedical Informatics Scientist for long-term consultant assignments at AstraZeneca in Gothenburg. With the right profile and a lot of passion, this might be the start of a fruitful employment at Pema Engineering & Science.
The Advanced Analytics Center, part of AstraZeneca's Biometrics and Information Sciences organization, is a melting-pot of advanced and innovative statistics, informatics and computational science. Principal Biomedical Informatics Scientist
We are looking for a Principal Informatics Scientist to join our Biomedical Informatics team, on secondment for one year.
Biomedical Informatics is part of AstraZeneca's Advanced Analytics Center, a hub of data scientists dedicated to transforming drug development decision-making through applied data science. As a Principal Informatics Scientist you will integrate AstraZeneca's data with external data, and applying industry-leading visual analytics to derive novel insights. The role will see you contributing to global late-phase drug-projects, working on challenges requiring a questioning nature and a keen eye for detail.
Main responsibilities:
Working closely with our Global Medicines Development clinical study teams to maximize the interpretation of clinical studies
Leading the development and delivery of new analytics capabilities across therapeutic areas and patient safety
Maintaining a keen interest in biomedical informatics advances, spotting opportunities to test new approaches, and using an entrepreneurial spirit to make them happen
Fostering collaborations across our multi-disciplinary Advanced Analytics hub
Qualification/Essential skills:
A proven record of delivering biomedical informatics approaches and tools
A passion for putting patients at the core of your work
A thorough knowledge of biomedicine and the clinical trial process and associated data
A flair for designing and implementing visual analytics interfaces (Spotfire, HighCharts, D3, R-Shiny)An ability to develop software prototypes and/or code algorithms (e.g. Python, R, SQL)
You career will be built on an MSc or PhD in a relevant biomedical or healthcare field, and cross-disciplinary training in computer science or informatics.
