Publiceringsdatum2019-07-16ArbetsuppgifterThe International School of Helsingborg is looking for a Swedish and Swedish as another language teacher to work with our current Swedish team from August 7, 2019 until December 20, 2019.
As a primary school Swedish teacher, your role will be to plan, organize, and carry out lessons for the students, ages 6-11 in the primary years program. You will have the overall responsibility for the Swedish language education of the students. You will work closely with the other teachers in our school, particularly the other primary school Swedish teachers and class teachers, following the philosophy of the IB education, but teaching the Swedish language curriculum.
The successful candidate will be a strong team player and have the ability to work collaboratively with co-workers as well as students and parents. You communicate proactively; support and care for others and openly communicate self-insight. As primary Swedish teacher will take the time to get to know the students and speak with them, creating relationships with them. In your role you will take initiative to make the school a place where students thrive.

KvalifikationerThe successful candidate will have a teaching degree and teaching qualification in Swedish and Swedish as a Second Language (SVA) in grades 1-6.
It's a strong merit if you have work experience from primary school teaching in grades 1-6, but we welcome newly graduated teachers as well.
Since we work in an international environment it is a requirement for the position to be strong in English, both verbally and written.
We expect successful candidates to be very familiar with modern digital technology and programmes, and have previously used them to communicate with both students and colleagues. Preferably, you also have experience of IB softwares but this is not a requirement.

4.1 Writing & reporting, Writes clearly, succinctly and correctly; writes convincingly in an engaging and expressive manner; avoids the unnecessary use of jargon or complicated language; writes in a well-structured and logical way; structures information to meet the needs and understanding of the intended audience.
5.1 Learning & researching, Rapidly learns new tasks and quickly commits information to memory; gathers comprehensive information to support decision making; demonstrates a rapid understanding of newly presented information; encourages an organisational learning approach (i.e. learns from successes and failures and seeks staff and customer feedback); manages knowledge (collects, catalogues, and disseminates knowledge of use to the organisation).
6.1 Planning & organising, Sets clearly defined objectives; plans activities and projects well in advance and takes account of possible changing circumstances; manages time effectively; identifies and organises resources needed to accomplish tasks; monitors performance against deadlines and milestones.
7.1 Adapting & responding to change, Adapts to changing circumstances; accepts new ideas and change initiatives; adapts interpersonal style to suit different people or situations; shows respect and sensitivity towards cultural and religious differences; deals with ambiguity, making positive use of the opportunities it presents.
