Description/Purpose
To support excellent music education for primary school students.
Duties/Responsibilities
Planning, delivering, and reflecting on engaging lessons that motivate and support student learning.
Modeling accurate vocal intonation and effective singing technique.
Playing the piano/guitar to accompany students' singing.
Differentiating instruction and assessment to meet the diverse needs of learners.
Collaborating across grade-level teams to integrate music authentically into units of inquiry.
Designing, organizing, and supporting student performances as part of a collaborative team, including selecting and teaching appropriate repertoire.
Writing clear, meaningful, and timely student reports and assessment comments.
Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment within a multicultural school community.
Demonstrating strong organizational skills, reliability, and flexibility in a busy school environment.
Maintaining effective classroom management practices that support student engagement and wellbeing.
Supporting students in developing proper vocal and instrumental techniques, while providing additional guidance for students requiring extra support.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Degree in Music Education and/or previous experience teaching music in a school setting.
Native or near-native proficiency in spoken and written English.
Current teaching qualifications/certification.
Experience teaching within the IB framework, specifically the Primary Years Programme (PYP).
Familiarity with, training in, or certification in Kodály, Orff, and/or Dalcroze methodologies.
Experience in teaching recorder, mallet instruments, or ukuleles.

Included in the recruitment process will be a local and national police check as well as a mandatory police background check from the last 10 years of employment in every country worked. A judicial background check will be conducted prior to the issuance of the contract for prospective candidates applying to work at our school.

Contract:
Temporary Cover contract
Time allocation: 50%, part-time
Starting: August 7, 2026
Ending: June 15, 2027
