ISH was established in 1995 to answer a growing demand for a truly international education at the Primary and Secondary levels. Today, we have approximately 800 students between 3 and 19 years of age attending our school across all programmes. The school delivers the International Baccalaureate curriculums.
Our teachers come from more than 30 different countries all over the world, and the same goes for our students. English is the primary language at the school.
Our Preschool, Primary and Middle School programmes offer an alternative for international families who are residing in the Helsingborg region on a temporary basis, or for those moving overseas. Our Diploma Program is an excellent choice for all students, Swedish or International, looking to further their studies abroad or in Sweden once they graduate. The aim of our school is to develop internationally minded people who, recognizing their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, help to create a better and more peaceful world.
ISH prides itself on its international uniqueness and diversity of teaching staff and students. IB diploma results are considerably higher than the IB world average on grades, points and diploma achievement. We are currently looking to add members to our PYP team.
Publiceringsdatum2019-04-18ArbetsuppgifterAs a primary class teacher, your role will be to plan, organize, and carry out lessons for students, ages 6-11 in the primary years program with beginning, developing or intermediate skills in English.
You will take part in the overall responsibility for the pastoral care of the students and have close contact with the parents. You will work closely with the other teachers in our school following the philosophy of the IB education. You will be expected to interact with the students in a caring, gentle but firm manner. You will be expected to be professional and flexible, both towards your colleagues and the greater school community.
KvalifikationerAs the teaching requires the ability to develop English skills with students with limited to advanced English skills, the candidate must have a deep knowledge of the framework and rules of English. There is also a daily need for spoken and written English in situations with parents, colleagues and other members of the school community.
The successful candidate will have a teaching degree in education and development for elementary grade levels (eg students aged 6 - 12). The ideal candidate will have experience teaching elementary learners in grades 1 - 6 - preferably experience with the International Baccalaureate Programme.
The ideal candidate will have experience with the use of ICT (Information and Communications Technologies) both for professional use and as relates to applications to support the learners.
We are looking for a team player and a positive, open minded and flexible person. When working with the learners, you will be firm, but kind and goal oriented. You will offer assistance and adapt lessons when needed, but will also be sure to set challenges for those learners who need it. As an English as an Additional Language teacher you will take the time to get to know the learners and speak with them, creating relationships with them. In your role you will take initiative to make the school a place where learners thrive.
