Do you want to impact the global news flow of a market leading manufacturing industry in this digital era when stories travel fast? Then we have an exciting role for you!

Sandvik is a high-tech and global engineering group with approximately 40 000 employees and operations in more than 160 countries. Our Group Communications team is responsible for supporting overall business objectives by developing successful communications strategies, ensuring operational excellence, employee engagement, innovative storytelling, an attractive brand and consistency across our channels. Right now, we are looking for a committed, networking and agile Press and Media Relations Manager - someone who truly recognizes the effect and importance of news and media in all its forms, and who is in search of a dynamic mission with a global scope and many exciting encounters.

About the job
Once joining us, you are our primary spokesperson towards the press and media community for Sandvik Group. You take quick action and perform strategic analysis to make grounded decisions on how to build our reputation based on the media environment, as well as on social, political and economic factors. Keeping ahead and being prepared to handle different scenarios of media attention, hot topics and critical issues are central parts of your mission, and by having an always-online mentality and a sharp eye for news angles, you don't miss anything of importance. You are also able to analyze global news and current social media topics, and use them to create PR stories that attract interests from our key audiences. In addition, you bring a strong understanding of business journalism and the impact of the media landscape, and this supports you when advising our management and executives on how to successfully meet and interact with the press.

By building trustworthy relationships both internally and externally, and by communicating to-the-point information, you successfully manage the press and media relations. This includes proactive planning and delivering on PR actions and campaigns, handling press meetings, and creating executive briefs, press releases, Q&A's and other media material. On top of this, you have the possibility to produce other communicative content such as our employee stories and our own "Meet Sandvik" podcast.

In this role, you report to, and work closely with the Executive Vice President and Head of Group Communications. You also found excellent collaborations with internal functions such as Investor Relations and those responsible for trade press relations within our different business areas and brands. Equally important is to frequently connect with our external network of suppliers, agencies and journalists. You are based at our headquarters at World Trade Center in Stockholm, and some travel is normally part of your job.

About you
We are looking for someone with a degree in Journalism or Communication, who previously has managed press and media relations - preferably for a stock listed industrial company. It is advantageous if you have combined this with managing global PR activities and campaigns. You bring seniority and a very strong network of both international and national journalists to the table, and you have most likely worked as a business journalist yourself. You handle confidential information with care, evaluate consequences, and know when and how to act in favor of our brand and reputation. You are also an excellent writer, and as we are a truly global company with high presence in Sweden, your communication skills in English and in Swedish must be exceptional.

Being quite the master of interactions and collaborations, you honestly thrive in a position where you build trust and are constantly available, living the brand and keeping track of global events that could impact our business. Curiosity, confidence and flexibility are your cornerstones, and your ambitious drive help you to make things happen. You respond quickly and efficiently to different scenarios, and remain professional and calm in high pressure situations. All in all, you fully engage in raising awareness and creating a successful media coverage for Sandvik Group!
