In this role you will work directly with customers to understand their technical and business challenges and then to help them understand how to apply our products to their problems. You will focus on the areas of:
• High performance computing with MathWorks parallel computing products
• Application development and deployment using MathWorks tools
• Interfacing between MATLAB and other languages and applications (e.g. C, C++, Excel, COM, .NET, Java)
• Data analysis and mathematical modelling using MATLAB and relevant toolboxes
Responsibilities
You will be working as part of a talented, high-energy engineering team and each day you will be using your strong technical and interpersonal skills to help our customers apply MathWorks tools in the best way to their particular applications. You will support customers across a broad range of industries.
The key tasks that define this role are:
1. Analyzing users' problems to determine a suitable solution and advising on the best implementation approach. Customers who are preparing to acquire software may require guidance on how to use evaluation products. This involves assisting customers with the use of MathWorks products and models to solve specific problems.
2. Developing demonstration programs and application examples. These are generally used to illustrate a solution or approach in support of customer engagements, but can also be used to help demonstrate technical capabilities in new application areas.
3. Working alongside the MathWorks Nordic Sales team, you will provide pre-sales technical support and guidance to our customers. Working as a team, you will assist the sales person first in understanding and synthesizing customer requirements, then explaining the features and capabilities of our products specific to their needs.
4. Preparing and delivering product presentations to customers and prospects. These are delivered during customer meetings and marketing seminars to audiences ranging from one to one hundred. These sessions include, but are not limited to, live demonstrations of MATLAB with relevant toolboxes and deployment products, and associated PowerPoint slide presentations.
5. Providing feedback to the development organisation on challenges faced by customers trying to apply MathWorks products to their problems, and advising on improvements to the toolset which would help overcome these.
Qualifications Required / Preferred
• MSc in a technical subject e.g. Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science
• A PhD or 3+ years of relevant experience
• 2+ years of experience of using MATLAB
• 2+ years programming experience e.g. in C, C++, C#, Java, and experience of object oriented software design
• An interest in high performance computing applications
• High interest in a customer-facing role - must be comfortable presenting to large and small groups of people
• Fluent in English and Swedish
• Ability to travel up to 25%
Desirable:
• Knowledge of distributed/parallel computing and/or GPUs for numerical computation
• Experience with .NET or Java integration
• Experience of using MathWorks add-on tools e.g. MATLAB Compiler, Optimization Toolbox, Statistics Toolbox, Financial Toolbox, Parallel Computing Toolbox
• Knowledge of statistics, optimization, signal processing, financial modelling
Most travel will be in the Nordic countries. Occasional travel to MathWorks headquarters in the US should be expected.
