About the opportunity
The Predictive Maintenance Lead has the overall responsibility for delivering and developing the Predictive maintenance Project stream within the Asset Analytics team, working with and in client projects to help the clients realize value from Data Science projects. The Predictive Maintenance Lead will act as a subject matter expert (SME) for rolling stock and predictive maintenance. The expert is responsible for leading and collaborating with the data scientists and Product Owner to develop the business.
The primary responsibility of this role is to define, conceptualize, formulate, develop, test, and implement new PdM/PHM/intelligent asset management models of various rolling stock components in close collaboration with the team and working as a consultant at customer projects, at least 50% of the time.
This is a key role in a rapidly developing part of our business, and you will:
Be responsible for delivering and pitching Data Science and Predictive Maintenance projects to clients (in collaboration with the Practice Manager
Drive innovation within Digital Service strategic theme Predictive Maintenance and Intelligent Asset Management solutions.
Market Atkins Digital Services by attending and hosting both academic and industry seminars.
Engage directly with clients and domain experts to understand their challenges and propose data science solutions.
Use data analysis techniques to prove hypothesis by building statistical models using a range of tools including Python, Spark and R.
Set up best practice data science capabilities and processes including ML/Ops and Model Lifecycle Management.
Use cutting edge visualizations to enable our clients to better explore the patterns and trends hidden within their data
Evaluate and apply machine learning (including deep learning) algorithms on data to create insights
Work collaboratively with data engineers and data scientist engineers to develop prototypes and deployable solutions
Help the data science team to achieve their potential and act as mentor through active technical leadership and coaching
About you
The successful candidate is likely to have the following attributes:
Demonstrated experience within the Rolling Stock Industry
Demonstrated experience working with train side data and developing concepts for analyzing and detecting failure patterns
Demonstrated ability to facilitate and lead others, and to work with minimal direction, with the proven ability to coordinate complex activities
Experience in developing and delivering presentations for internal and external stakeholders
A problem-solving mindset and the ability to make conceptual links between real word problems and data analytics solutions
Strong grasp of numbers, statistics, mathematical concepts, and algorithms. Ideally with a degree at PhD or Masters level
Experience of implementing Model Cycle Management/ML-Ops for multiple experiments
Experience of managing/mentoring team of data scientists.
Experience with NLP and linguistic approaches for retrieval, interpretation, and pushing of insight from scientific literature
