This is us, your new colleagues:
We are handling the product modifications released after the commercial launch. Our team is called Maintenance HD Powertrain and we manage HD Engines, HD Transmissions, Axle and prop shaft "maintenance" changes globally for the group.
Before deciding what product modification to launch, a pre-study is performed to understand business impacts and alignment with the strategy.
Purpose/description:
As Pre-Study manager for HD Engines, you will lead cross functional estimations for all new Market adaptations & Legal requests, Cost improvements requests, and as well Quality product modification requests.
You will be responsible and Accountable for the maintenance projects cost estimates done in range HD Powertrain (HDP). You drive a cross functional team with engineering, purchasing, GTO, AMT representatives and report business cases to Estimation meetings.
Your work brings value added to Volvo by keeping a holistic view and securing that product changes proposed are coherent with longer term product strategy.
• Drive Product maintenance pre-studies for PMRs HD engines EMEA and Global
• Drive cross functional decision inputs for Heavy Duty Engines in Quest and MDB
• Secure pre-study lead-time achievement with your cross functional team
• Coordinate with GTT key account for BA requests (VCE, VP, VGGS, VBC)
• Ensure that product changes proposed includes appropriate validation plans with constant quality focus
• Secure that proposed product changes are consistent with the quality targets

Education/Professional Qualifications required for the position:

• University degree BSc, or equivalent
• Project processes education

• Lead and drive the Pre-study HD Engines EMEA Product Maintenance Team
• Propose priorization and decision on HD Engines EMEA and Global perimeter
Reporting structure
• Organizationally: HD Powertrain Maintenance Director
• Functionally: HD Powertrain Engine Global Manager
Additional Important Requirements
• Fluent in English
• Flexible Lyon or Gothenburg, Preferred Gothenburg
• Position request frequent travels to other sites
