Inside Group Truck Technology, the Powertrain Controls System is a global organization which has the responsibility to develop powertrain electrical systems solutions for the Volvo Group.
One area of expertise of Controls Systems is the development and installation of electrical components like ECUs, sensors, wiring harness, starters.
Here is a great opportunity for an experienced wiring harness engineer that wants to contribute to the design and packaging of wiring harness for engine projects.
You will be located in Gothenburg, Sweden, and work in a global environment in collaboration with our colleges in France, India, Brazil; USA and Japan.
You will work in a team using SAFe and agile methodologies.
Work description
Main task is the design and packaging of wiring harness and power cables meeting quality, cost and time-plan requirements.
You will be requested to:
Design technical solutions, identify improvements, and propose new technical solutions
Secure solutions for routing and installation
Coordinate development activities with suppliers and other stakeholders (i.e. purchasing, manufacturing, quality and aftermarket)
Identify and solve quality issues
Contribute to the development of tools, methods and processes

Who are you?
We are looking for a team-player with very good technical competence and communication skills.
We are expecting you to have:
University degree in electrical, mechatronic, mechanical engineering or similar with a few years of work experience
Genuine interest for automotive electronics
Facing problems and changes, you need to be open minded and with positive attitude to problem solving
Working in a team set-up with global colleagues and supplier contacts you are an excellent team player, able to take responsibilities and initiatives
As a part of a global organization it is important to be fluent in English, both spoken and written
Knowledge and experience of agile methodologies is desirable but not a must
