Summer Internship within Powertrain Engineering - Vehicle Simulations
Geely Powertrain Engineering Europe is the powertrain R&D department at CEVT and one of three R&D centers within Geely Automotove. As the automotive industry is moving towards higher levels of electrification, our main task is to deliver competitive electrified powertrain solutions for Geely and Lynk & Co, but also other brands within the Geely Group. Our responsibilities range from early stage concepts and advanced research for all powertrain components and their combined systems, to hardware and software development and deliveries for transmissions and high-voltage electrical systems such as batteries and electric motors.

In our Vehicle Simulations team we are four PhDs and one engineer, all with different tasks, positions and backgrounds. We have developed a powertrain system model in a simulation environment which can be used to explore different component combinations and controls, i.e. powertrain systems, in order to reach set targets in fuel consumption, performance, emissions etc. Our work focuses on early stage concepts, ideas, and advanced research, but also includes development of engine-, transmission-, and hybrid controls, supporting vehicle calibration and delivering factual data and material for strategy and planning.

As an intern in our team you will be part of the Research & Development organization and gain valuable insight to the development of the cars and powertrains of tomorrow and Vehicle Simulations role in the development process. Your tasks will vary based on your background and interest and may include powertrain system simulations and model development, database implementation, code automatization, script development and programming, but also developing models and controls for specific components such as batteries, electric motors, fuel cells, transmissions, catalysts, after-treatment solutions.

Exact tasks during the summer work is decided together based on your interest and qualifications.

We are looking for students with an open mindset to new innovative ways of working and want to be part of a global and agile team. Do you want to be part of our journey developing cars for a different tomorrow, take initiatives to drive progress further and have fun while doing it?

We are looking for:
- Students within Mechanical-, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, Applied Physics or Mathematics, Computer Science, and Mechatronics
- An entrepreneurial mind-set, taking own initiatives, as we are a flat organization with a straight forward, open-minded culture.
- Team players, since we value knowledge sharing and getting great things done together.
- Solution oriented and with the ability to turn solutions into actions that you can implement in your team.
- Driven and positive personalities, with a genuine interest in the automotive industry.
