The Scania Powertrain Performance and Analysis team are looking for a new member to broaden our team. One of the most important tasks we have in front of us is to investigate different future powertrain concepts where electrification and traditional technologies will join in a lot of potential scenarios. A key task for our team is to understand and evaluate properties of the complete powertrain, considering both the control and the hardware. The group's responsibilities consist of developing and balancing properties of the powertrain, with respect to driveability and energy efficiency.
Your tasks
Analyse and evaluate technical solutions to reach development targets for powertrain performance, including both electrified and traditional powertrains.
• Analyse and challenge existing powertrain concepts and vehicle behaviour and suggest improvements for both the software and the hardware
• Support in defining powertrain requirements and targets in powertrain projects that secures Scania's position as market leader in powertrains also in the future
• Understand what functionality we need for the future.
• Perform vehicle tests to further increase knowledge about what parameters affect driveability.
• Deliver simulation and verification results to the organization.
• Perform benchmark on competitor vehicles and keep track of the latest trends in heavy duty powertrains, both by driving, literature studies and simulation.
• Create and maintain simplified models used for evaluation of conceptual powertrains.
• Support development of scripts for driveability evaluation.
• Cooperate cross-functionally with R&D and other entities in the Traton group.
Your profile
You are an experienced engineer who is motivated by learning new things and solving problems. You are curious, communicative and likes to share your findings and knowledge with others. You hold an engineering degree within mechanical, electrical or physics engineering and have experience in software development. If you have special competences in electrified vehicle propulsion or other powertrain components it is an asset. Driver license C, CE and driving experience is meriting. You are capable of expressing yourself fluently in English.
