Do you want to learn new things and impact the powertrain of Scania's future vehicles? Then we are looking for you! The Scania Powertrain Performance and Analysis team is strengthening our team with a new member. One of the most important tasks we have in front of us is to investigate different future powertrain concepts where electrification and traditional technologies will join in a lot of potential scenarios. A key task for our team is to understand and evaluate properties of the complete powertrain, considering both the control and the hardware. The group's responsibilities consist of developing and balancing properties of the powertrain, with respect to driveability and energy efficiency. We are currently looking for a communicative person with great interest in technical development who can see the big picture.
Your tasks
Analyse and evaluate technical solutions to reach development targets for powertrain performance, including both electrified and traditional powertrains.
• Analyse and challenge existing powertrain concepts and suggest improvements for both the software and the hardware
• Suggest new powertrain concepts that secures Scania's position as market leader in powertrains also in the future
• Understand what functionality is needed for the future
• Deliver simulation and verification results to the organization
• Compile decision basis for R&D management
• Perform benchmark on competitors and keep track of the latest trends in heavy duty powertrains
• Create and maintain models of the powertrain and its control system
• Cooperate cross-functionally with R&D and other entities in the Traton group
Your profile
You are a senior engineer who is motivated by learning new things and solving problems. You are curious and likes to share your findings and knowledge with others. You hold a MSc or PhD degree within mechanical, electrical or physics engineering, preferably with specialisation in control or mechatronics. If you have special competences in electrified vehicles, transmissions, engines or other powertrain components it is an asset. You are capable of expressing yourself fluently in English. Drivers licence for heavy vehicles is meriting.
