The department Hybrid Power Supply within Electrical and Electronics Systems Engineering is responsible for power electronics and energy storage systems for vehicle electrification within Volvo Car Corporation (VCC).

Assignment:
VCC is looking for an experienced power electronics system engineer to work
on advanced hybrid vehicle components and sub-systems. This is a great opportunity to join a talented team of engineers in a cutting edge field.
Responsibilities include the development of the power electronics system for hybrid vehicle applications including control software with focus on the interface between the inverter and traction motor.
Proven experience with Class-B voltage DC and 3-phase AC power is necessary.
Demonstrated knowledge of generators, traction motors, inverters,
converters, power distribution devices, batteries, and power control electronics is expected as well as software design.
Required Competencies:
" MS in Electrical Engineering
" Design experience in development of Class-B voltage power components
" Power electronics, permanent magnet machines, induction machines
" Component development, integration of subsystem and testing
" Simulation and analysis of high voltage power electronics and subsystems
" Analog and digital circuit design, software implementation
" Ability to make implementations to improve component reliability and lifetime
" Skilled at working with suppliers
" High level of oral and written communication skills, Swedish and English
Required Experience:
" A minimum of three years design experience in power electronics or distribution
" Experience in use of commercial simulation and calculation includingfield calculations using tools, such as PSPICE and Matlab/Simulink
" Experience in designing software algorithms and specifications
" Experience writing specifications and validation procedures
