Introduction:
One of the strategic research areas of Lund University is advanced laser spectros-copy/diagnostics with world leading activities in various areas such as ultrafast studies (attosecond), high pulse-energy applications, combustion diagnostics, medical applications, optical remote sensing, etc. The activities have new dedicated laboratories with state-of-the-art experimental facilities. Besides, there are several research centers in the area of laser spectroscopy/applications hosted by Lund University. In order to broaden and strengthen the activities in the field laser/optical applications we are now announcing a post doc. position within the area of optical remote sensing.

The research activities will be directed towards development and application of laser/optical techniques for studies in various ecological and environmental situa-tions, e.g. studies of animals, (insects, birds, etc), crops and air pollutants. The research area has strong coupling to developing countries. Experimental work will take place both in the laboratory as well as in various field tests.

Eligibility requirements:
Qualified for the position as postdoctoral fellow is a person who holds a doctorate or a foreign degree that is deemed equivalent to a doctorate and who has completed the degree within the three years prior to the last date for applications, unless there are valid reasons. Special requirements for this position:
• a PhD in a relevant area
• a background of and experiences from various optical/laser spectroscopic techniques
• fluency in English, written as well as spoken
Bedömningsgrund
Basis of assessment:
For appointments to postdoctoral fellow, good ability to develop and carry out research as well as teaching ability forms the assessment criteria. Desirable qualifications:
• specific experience in the field
• experience from work in low-resource-countries
• experience from collaboration with other disciplines
• willingness to and experience from teamwork
Consideration will also be given to how the applicant through his/her personality, experience and competence is assessed to complement and strengthen the ongoing research and teaching at the Department of Combustion Physics.
