Job assignment
The holder of this position will mainly work on a research project pertaining to the development of ex vivo techniques for lung tissue regeneration and transplantation, using a combination of ex vivo and in vivo approaches.
The main work responsibilities involve designing and conducting research pertaining to the project and includes obtaining, analysing and managing data acquired for the project. Further, the holder of this position will be responsible for writing of high quality, academic papers to be submitted to international journals. The majority of this work should be done independently and in collaboration with both internal and external members of the team. The position also entails mentoring of doctoral and masters students.
Qualifications
Necessary Qualifications:
• PhD (or equivalent) in cell and molecular biology, bioengineering, or biotechnology from no more than three years ago
• Ability to carry out independent and high-quality research as documented through the thesis and peer-reviewed publications
• Experience with data handling and analysis, including statistics
• Experience with state-of-the-art in vivo imaging techniques for lung tissue
• Good written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency in English
• Experience in mentoring and/or supervision
In addition to the above qualifications, the desired qualifications are as follows:
• Background in lung biology
• Experience with standard cell and molecular biology techniques
• Experience with in vivo animal models for lung disease
• Experience with nano and microparticle synthesis and ex vivo/in vivo usage
• Experience with live cell and tissue imaging, including image analysis
The research project is interdisciplinary, therefore candidates with a broad competence profile spanning theses different areas are of special interest.
Terms of employment
Full time temporary employment for 2 years, with start September 1st or according to agreement. Temporary employment according to the postdoktor agreement between labor market parties dated 2008-09-04 (Arbetsgivarverket, OFR:s, Saco-S and SEKO).
