We are looking for an outstanding postdoctoral researcher, preferably with a clinical background, (clinical or health psychology, psychiatry or nursing) who can coordinate a new exciting research project aimed at developing and testing a lifestyle intervention aiming to reduce cardiometabolic risk in individuals with a diagnosis of obsessive-compulsive disorder.
About us
The Centre for Psychiatry Research (CPF) is a collaborative organization between Stockholm County Medical Area and the Karolinska Institutet. The task of CPF is to conduct and develop research, teaching and development within clinical psychiatry in the county of Stockholm. The 22 independent research groups at CPF cover a number of fields, including depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorders, psychosis, personality disorders, abuse, and suicide.
You will become a team member of the Anxiety, Obsessive-Compulsive, and Related Disorders research group at CPF, and will be part of an engaging and international research environment where you will have the opportunity to contribute to high quality research at international top level.
About the position
You will be responsible for a new clinical research project which aims to develop and test a novel lifestyle intervention to reduce cardiometabolic risk in individuals with obsessive-compulsive disorder. The project has been recently funded by the Swedish Research Council for Health, Working Life and Welfare (FORTE). The project is led by Dr Lorena Fernández de la Cruz, Senior Researcher at the Department of Clinical Neuroscience, KI.
You will be the primary coordinator for the project. The tasks will include: 1) coordination, planning, and responsibility for the day-to-day aspects of the project; 2) finalizing the design of the intervention and corresponding intervention protocol - in collaboration with the relevant patient organization (Svenska OCD-förbundet) and other research collaborators; 3) applying for ethical approval and trial registration; 4) advertisement of the trial; 5) participant recruitment and enrolment; 6) delivery of the intervention (only if you have a clinical profile); 7) data analysis and interpretation of results; and 8) dissemination of the research outcomes both in scientific (e.g., conferences, peer-reviewed articles) and non-scientific settings.
About you
In order to be an eligible candidate, you must hold a PhD in a relevant field of work, for example clinical psychology, health psychology, psychiatry (or other relevant field of medicine), or nursing. Full professional competence in both English and Swedish is required. Proficiency in the writing of scientific texts is essential.
Ideally, you should have a clinical background and have experience in project coordination. Experience in behavioural interventions and behaviour change research will be highly valued, as it will be experience in lifestyle interventions. Familiarity with statistical analyses and statistical programs is desirable. Particular emphasis will be placed on evaluating your academic skills, as demonstrated through your publication record and the relevance of your prior research for the current project.
You should also have strong interpersonal skills and be able to take responsibility for your own tasks. You should be able to take initiative and be flexible to manage different tasks effectively and ensure that project goals are consistently met.
Employment
Type of employment: 1-year fixed-term position.
Employment rate: The position is full or part-time, to be negotiated with the successful candidate.
