Faculty
The Faculty of Technology and Society, TS, conducts education and research with a focus on technology and natural sciences, in close collaboration with industry and other social actors and higher education institutions. The two departments at the faculty are: Computer Science and Media Technology and Materials Science and Applied Mathematics.
Department
The Department of Computer Science and Media Technology provides research-linked courses and study programmes at first-cycle and second-cycle level. The department conducts research in: Computer science, Information Systems, Software Engineering and Media and Communication Technology. Education and research are conducted in close collaboration with parties from both the private and public sectors.
Work duties
The position is part of the Internet of Things and People (IoTaP) research center at Malmö University and includes collaboration with industrial partners. Read more at mau.se/iotap
The Internet of Things (IoT) enables the objects in our environment to sense, act, and share information. This position concerns mainly research in the area of software architecture for intelligent and interactive IoT systems. The research will be carried out in application areas that are of interest for the industrial partners, such as energy, transportation, health, and smart home and offices.
Qualifications
In order to qualify for this specific position, the applicant must have:
A PhD degree in Computer Science, or related area. The candidates must have completed their degree within three years of the application deadline. Candidates who have completed their degree more than three years from the application deadline should receive equal priority if there are special reasons. Special grounds include leave due to sickness or trade unions and student organization work, parental leave or other similar circumstances.
Desired qualifications:
• demonstrated ability to perform research in the field of software architecture for IoT
• demonstrated ability to perform research in intelligent interactive systems, e.g. learning and self-adaptive systems
• demonstrated ability to perform applied research together with industrial partners
• experience from Internet of Things applications
• demonstrated analytical and communication skills
Assessment criteria
According to the Appointment Rules at Malmö University, the assessment criteria for a postdoctoral research position are:
• The quality and focus of the doctoral thesis
• Research activities within fields relevant to the appointment in question
• Documented ability to independently conduct research of a sufficient standard
• Reflective presentation of their own pedagogical outlook and practices
• Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate with actors in other parts of society with a connection to education and research

Miscellaneous
This is a temporary full-time position for 24 months. The position normally consists of 80% research and 20% teaching.
