Postdoc in Nutrition for a research project in physical activity and cardiometabolic health
formally based at Division of Society and Health at the Department of Health, Medicin and Caring Scienes

Duties
Your duties will primarily include analysing data in two ongoing research projects regarding children's physical activity and health. The analyses include analysis of longitudinal associations between physical activity and health markers as well as derivation of population-based standardised metrics for physical activity intensities from accelerometer data. Furthermore, other tasks related to the research project are included, for example to hold seminars and to contribute with supervision of doctoral students and undergraduate and graduate students, primarily regarding objective measures of physical activity.

A Postdoc will essentially carry out research. The position may also involve teaching, but during no more than a fifth of work time.

Your workplace
You will be based at the Division of Society and Health at the Department of Health, Medicine and Caring Sciences.

Qualifications
The position requires a doctorate or an equivalent degree from a foreign university. The doctorate shall have been obtained no longer than three years before the expiration date of the application.

We are looking for a candidate who has a doctorate in biomedicine with special emphasis on physical activity. You have in-depth knowledge in the research group's field. You have extensive and documented experience in data processing of accelerometer data in open-source software (e.g., GGIR), especially in preschool aged children. You have experience in data analysis with R software and can conduct such analyses independently. Experience of previous international longer research stays and international collaborative projects within measurement methodology for physical activity is a requirement as the project requires close collaboration with a large number of researchers and universities in a large international project. Major research grants received as the main applicant after dissertation is a merit. The position requires that you are fluent in English (oral and writing). As a person, you take your own initiatives, take responsibility for your tasks and structure your own work. You are creative and innovative and in this way find new ideas and new approaches to work-related issues. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability for the employment.

Appointment time
A Postdoc is appointed until further notice, but for no longer than two years. The appointment can be renewed if there are special reasons.

Starting date
1 september 2021.
