Postdoctoral researcher in Materials Physics with focus on chiral nanomaterials
formally based at Department of Physics, Chemistry and Biology, IFM

Duties
The project is mainly focused on the development of chiro-optical nanodevices using complex chiral nanostructures grown by physical vapor deposition (PVD). We will devote to develop high-performance nanodevices by fabricating complex chiral nanostructures and hybrids with different geometries and spatial distributions, constituting of different materials and compositions.

The postdoctor will mainly work on the growth and characterization of complex nanomaterials, development of hybrids with organic/inorganic nanostructures and/or plasmonic nanomaterials, as well as fabrication of nanophotonic device structures combined with nanolithography. The postdoc will partly join the team studying nanostructural growth behaviors and chiro-optical properties by theoretical modeling and simulations.

A Postdoc will essentially carry out research. The position may also involve teaching, but during no more than a fifth of work time.

Qualifications
We are looking for a highly motivated and creative researcher with a PhD degree in Materials Science/Engineer, Photonics, Electrical Engineer, Physics or similar. Documented experience from activities mentioned under Duties as well as skills in writing/presentation is a requirement.

The position requires a doctorate or an equivalent degree from a foreign university. The doctorate shall have been obtained no longer than three years before the expiration date of the application.

Appointment time
Two years.
