Division
The breast cancer research group currently comprises 3 senior and 5 junior researchers as well as 6 PhD students.

Several large case-control and cohort cancer populations are available with collected biological samples (blood, tumor) and complete information about clinical characteristics and disease progression. The research is performed in an interdisciplinary setting with strong collaboration with clinical departments and other national and international research groups.

Area of responsibilities/description of the work
Our research aims at acquiring a comprehensive picture of breast cancer prognosis. There are both host (patient) and tumor characteristics that define breast cancer prognosis, as well as treatment response and complications. Therefore our aim is to study both patient and tumor determinants of breast cancer prognosis. There are a vast number of auxiliary projects ongoing. To mention some; genomics of interval breast cancers, the mammographic density and texture associated with breast cancer subtype, inherited variance for breast cancer prognosis, identification of breast- tumor specific markers for disease progression.

Qualifications
Applicants should have a PhD degree in genetic and/or molecular epidemiology. The applicant should be skilled in advanced multivariate statistical analysis and have ample experience with publishing English research articles. Interest in breast cancer research is a prerequisite and basic knowledge of this research field is an advantage. Previous experience in genome wide association studies and bioinformatics analysis of genetic data is an advantage.
