Division
This position is available in the group of Associate Professor Tulay Yucel-Lindberg at the Department of Dental Medicine, division of periodontology.
In our research group, we focus on the molecular mechanisms, host gene expression and microbial community, and biomarkers underlying the pathogenesis of the chronic inflammatory disease periodontitis as well as its relationship with associated chronic inflammatory diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis.
Duties
The work focuses primarily on library preparation of clinical samples for next generation sequencing and analysis of data with regard to RNA-seq and microbial 16S data. The work also involves participation in different ongoing research projects and responsibilities to design and conduct experimental research, analyze and interpret the results, to write scientific articles in English and supervision of master and Ph.D. students.
This is a temporary position longer than 1 year.
Qualifications
We are looking for a highly motivated and committed postdoctoral scientist to join our group. The candidate should have experience with performing library preparation for next generation sequencing and processing and analyzing sequencing data using bioinformatics approaches/programs. In addition, the candidate should have experience in laboratory work including cell culturing and molecular biology techniques, flow cytometry, Luminex/ELISA and histology/immunohistochemistry and methods for statistical analysis.
Entry requirements
A person is eligible for a position as Postdoctoral Researcher if he or she has obtained a PhD no more than seven years before the last date of employment as postdoc. The term can be extended under special circumstances.
