hela Sverige The Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics (MEB) is among the largest departments of epidemiology in Europe with special focus on increasing our knowledge of the aetiology of different diseases. Our department consists of researchers, doctoral students, biostatisticians, data collectors and database administrators as well as administrative personnel, in total some 250 staff. Division
The position is in the biostatistics group.
The primary activities of the biostatistics group include (i) own research in population-based studies, and in genetic and molecular epidemiology, (ii) collaboration with medical researchers particularly in molecular epidemiology, and (iii) biostatistics teaching both at undergraduate and graduate levels.
Duties
The position would suit applicant who are interested in developing a career in the intersection of statistics, computing and biosciences. The successful applicant will join an interdisciplinary research team with strong collaboration with clinical departments and other national and international research groups. The applicant should be able to work closely with this interdisciplinary team and to acquire the necessary medical, biological and epidemiological knowledge as necessary to make meaningful contributions.
Entry requirements
To qualify, the applicant must hold or expect to receive a PhD degree in biostatistics, statistics or a related discipline with a strong competence in computational methods and research experience in genetic/molecular epidemiology. A person is eligible for a position as Postdoctoral Researcher if he or she has obtained a PhD no more than seven years before the last date of employment as postdoc.

• A complete list of publications
• A summary of current work (no more than one page)
• Verifications for crediting of illness, military service, work for labour unions or student organisations, parental leave or similar circumstances
• Verification from the thesis defence committee or the equivalent (only if the thesis defence is scheduled within three months after the application deadline)
