At the Department of Electrical Engineering, we conduct internationally renowned research in biomedical engineering, antenna systems, signal processing, image analysis, automatic control, automation, mechatronics, and communication systems. We offer a dynamic and international research environment with about 200 employees from more than 20 countries, and with extensive national and international research collaborations with academia, industry and society. The department provides around 100 courses, of which most are included in the Master's Programs "Biomedical Engineering", "Systems, Control and Mechatronics", "Communication Engineering" and "Electrical Power Engineering".

Major responsibilities
In this position, you will perform research signal processing for emerging medical-, radar- and communication systems with many antennas (MIMO). As a key member of a cross-disciplinary team your research will combine digital precoding, nonlinear hardware modeling and compensation algorithms with experimental real-world investigations using Chalmers advanced multi-antenna testbed. Your research is an important part of our goal to demonstrate energy efficient and high capacity wireless communication systems and radar systems.

You are expected to co-supervise PhD students, and involve yourself in teaching to some extent. You will be responsible for reporting and presenting the research results at project meetings.

Qualifications
To qualify for the position of postdoc, you must hold a doctoral degree awarded no more than three years prior to the application deadline (according to the current agreement with the Swedish Agency for Government Employers) in a field related to signal processing or communications, preferably connected to multiantenna signals. In addition to the formal qualifications, selection is also based on the performance of the candidates in other works (e.g. thesis and advanced level courses), as well as through interviews. Besides good subject knowledge, emphasis will be on analytical ability, motivation, ability to cooperate, initiative to work independently.

The position requires sound verbal and written communication skills in English. Swedish is not a requirement but Chalmers offers Swedish courses.

Contract terms
This postdoc position is a full-time temporary employment for two years.
