hela Sverige The Department is organized in 10 divisions: Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Pediatric Endocrinology, Pediatric Surgery, Neuropediatrics, Pediatric Oncology, Neonatology, Reproductive Endocrinology, Neuropsychiatry (KIND), Reproductive and Perinatal Health. The divisions have separate scientific profiles and vary in size and have several research groups, dealing with both basic and clinical science.
Division
Center of Neurodevelopmental Disorders at Karolinska Institutet (KIND) is a competence center focusing on research, development and education about neurodevelopmental disorders.
KIND is a part of the Pediatric Neuropsychiatry Unit at the Department of Women's and Children's Health.
We welcome applications for a fully funded postdoctoral position in developmental cognitive neuroscience in Dr. Terje Falck-Ytter's research group at the Center of Neurodevelopmental Disorders at Karolinska Institutet (KIND)
This position (2 years with possible extension) is tied to our ongoing study of infants at risk for autism (the EASE study;
www.smasyskon.se), as well as to a new longitudinal study of preschoolers with autism (3-6 years; project duration is 5 years). The latter study will include a wide range of measures and methods, such as MRI, EEG, eye tracking, and represents one node in a large new European multisite project.
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting and reporting key analyses from the study of infants at risk, as well as being primary responsible for setting up and coordinating the new preschool study. All activities will be conducted in close collaboration with the other members of the team, as well as in collaboration with the other sites in Europe.
The studies provide a rich basis for a range of different experimental and clinical analyses; the specific research focus will depend on the candidate's profile and can be discussed. The position provides an excellent opportunity for transition to career independence. It is expected that the candidate will apply for further funding within the context of the described projects.

Entry requirements
Applicants should have a PhD in developmental psychology, cognitive neuroscience, or a related field with a strong publication record. The candidate should have a quantitative research background, and must be able to handle technical equipment independently and effectively (e.g. setting up and quality checking new experimental equipment). Excellent oral and written English language skills are required.
The candidate must be thorough, efficient and structured. You must be able to work independently as well as in a team; hence good communication skills are important. We seek an ambitious team member motivated to produce the best possible science.
Non-essential criteria: The following are preferred but not required qualifications:
- Experience with magnetic resonance imaging, particularly infants or children
- Swedish language skills
- Previous successful grant applications (as main applicant)
- Strong computational programming skills
- Relevant clinical experience
