Postdoctoral position (1 year) in biogeochemistry
at the Climate Impacts Research Centre, Abisko, Sweden
The Climate Impacts Research Centre (CIRC) undertakes research on how climatic and environmental changes affect the environment in the north. CIRC is part of the Department of Ecology and Environmental Science at Umeå University www.emg.umu.se and stationed year-round in Abisko, Kiruna municipality. The holder of the position should carry out research on ecology/biogeochemistry on climate driven soil processes and their importance for the fate of carbon or contaminants in the arctic soil. Previous experience from decomposition experiments or contaminant tracing is an advantage, but not a prerequisite. The position is open for an outstanding scientist with a demonstrated record of achievements.
Candidates should have a PhD, preferably not more than three years old, and documented research experience within the area of the position. The application can be submitted either electronically (MS Word or PDF format) or in hard-copy (two copies) form. Applications should include a curriculum vitae, transcripts of degree certificates, a statement of previous research achievements and teaching merits, a publication list and reprints/copies of published work numbered according to this list, a research plan (maximum 4 pages) and a list of reference persons. Note, in order to be considered, applications must include copies of reprints. The department encourages female applicants.
