The Faculty of Culture and Society is a multidisciplinary faculty that includes the School of Arts and Communication, the Department of Global Political Studies and the Department of Urban Studies.

Department of Global Political Studies
The Department of Global Political Studies is a multidisciplinary research and educational environment with Bachelor programs in European Studies, Peace and Conflict Studies, International Migration and Ethnic Relations (IMER), Diversity Studies, International Relations, Human Rights, and Political Science. There are two Masters programs in IMER and Global Politics as well as two Ph. D. programs in the same subjects. The Department's educational programs and research focus on global processes of change and their impact on societies and individuals. Our research environment also includes MIM (Malmö Institute for Studies of Migration, Diversity and Welfare) and the research platforms RUCARR (Russia and the Caucasus Regional Research) and REDEM (Rethinking Democracy).

About the postdoctoral position
The postdoc position is for 2 years and will mainly involve research within the field of Global Politics. The postdoc will be involved in all aspects of the research process, including project planning, research design, empirical analysis, presentation of findings at conferences, and preparation of manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals. The postdocs will spend up to 20 percent of their time on teaching at the Department of Global Political Studies. The postdoc will also actively participate in the activities of the Department, such as seminars and workshops.

Qualifications
Candidates should have obtained a PhD, or an international degree deemed equivalent to a PhD, within the subject of Global Politics or a related field (for example International Relations, Human Rights, Peace and Conflict Studies, European Studies and Political Science). The PhD should be completed no more than three years before the last date for application.

Selection criteria
This is a career development position primarily focused on research in relation to the stated subjects. The position is intended to be an initial career step, and the assessment of the applicants will primarily be based on their research qualifications and potential as researchers.

• Quality of the research proposal (originality, feasibility, outcomes)
• Good ability to develop and conduct high quality research within the field of global political studies including

• Ability to work independently
• Ability to display rigour in problem formulations and research plans
• Theoretical and methodological skills within the relevant fields

• Excellent communication skills in English in both speech and writing
• Proven ability to co-operate with colleagues in other disciplines
