Postdoctoral Fellow in Statistical Physics
at the Department of Physics.
A wide range of research is carried out at the Department of Physics, for example in astronomy and astrophysics, atomic and molecular physics, biophysics, complex systems, condensed matter physics, and in nanomaterials. Research and education at the department is carried out in close collaboration with the Departments of Applied Physics and Fundamental Physics at Chalmers University of Technology within the "Fysikcentrum Göteborg". Responsibilities
The appointee shall independently conduct research on the dynamics of turbulent aerosols, by theoretical analysis and computer simulations of stochastic models of turbulent aerosols.
Qualification requirements
To qualify as a postdoctoral fellow you must have completed a PhD in a subject area relevant for the position or you must have a foreign degree corresponding to a PhD in a subject area relevant for the position. Preference will be given to candidates who have been awarded the degree no more than three years before the final date of application. Candidates being awarded their degree earlier than this can also be preferred if specific reasons exist. Such specific reasons may be a leave due to illness, parental leave or other similar circumstances.
Assessment
The applicant shall have a documented familiarity of mathematical analysis with stochastic models of turbulent aerosols and with their computer simulation. This is primarily shown by publications in international peer-reviewed journals or by the PhD thesis. Priority will be given to the applicant's ability to work independently.
