The research at the Department of Rheumatology and Inflammation research is focused on inflammatory diseases, ranging from basic research and animal models to clinical research and rehabilitation
The Gout Group at the Dept of Rheumatology is doing epidemiological research on the gout disease in many different issues such as comorbidity, risk factors, clinical management and pathogenic mechanisms. The research goup of professor Lennart Jacobsson is now recruiting a post-doc within the project of "Gout Epidemiology".

The research project aims to identify comorbidities and risk factors to gout.
Job assignments
The candidate is expected to have knowledge in rheumatic diseases in general and gout in particular and deep knowledge in epidemiology and statistics. The candidate is expected to manage and analyza large amounts of data in statistical computer programs such as SPSS, SAS and STATA. The candidate is expected to have experience from work with Mendelian randomization and gout genetics. The candidate should be able to present results from research both verbally and in writing, and be a representative of the group at international meetings and conferences. The candidate is expected to work independently with hypothesis generation, hypothesis testing and result analysis, with careful reference to the scientific literature.
Eligibility
To qualify as a postdoctoral researcher the applicant should hold a PhD in a relevant subject. Since postdoctoral constitutes a qualifying appointment for junior researchers, we aim to target those who have a doctoral degree not older
than 3 years from the application deadline.
Assessment
We are looking for a qualified PhD in the field of gout epidemiology. You should have knowledge about the rheumatic diseases in general and gout in particular. You should be able to manage and analyze large data volumes statistically in
general and with special techniques such as Mendelian randomization in particular. You are also knowledgeable regarding the field of gout genetics. You are trustworthy, responsible and committed. Furthermore, you are service-oriented, accurate and able to independently structure and organize your daily work, as well as collaborate with others. We value personal suitability highly.
