The University of Gothenburg tackles society's challenges with diverse knowledge. 49 000 students and 6 400 employees make the university a large and inspiring place to work and study. Strong research and attractive study programmes attract scientists and students from around the world. With new knowledge and new perspectives, the University contributes to a better future.

Research and graduate education at the Department of Chemistry and Molecular biology comprises a wide scientific field from the atomic and molecular levels all the way through cells to intact organisms. Much of the phenomena studied here impact on our natural environment and living systems. We participate in undergraduate programs in chemistry, molecular biology, medicinal chemistry, biology, marine sciences, and pharmacy.

Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) is an actively developing biophysical technique that provides atomic-level information about spatial structure, dynamics, and interactions of key molecular components of a living cell. Our group at the Department of Chemistry and Molecular Biology and the Swedish NMR Centre is the forefront of developing new NMR experiments, signal processing algorithms, automation of data analysis.

Job assignments
You will develop an efficient NMR methodology for Structural Biology that addresses deficiencies of the present-day biomolecular NMR such as insufficient resolution, low sensitivity, and inefficiency of analysis when dealing with challenging protein systems and molecular complexes. In collaboration with other research groups the researcher will study structure, dynamics, and interactions of several challenging and biomedically important systems. The researcher will be exposed to a broad range of scientific tasks and research questions that require genuine interest to acquire knowledge in NMR, Structural Biology, Biophysics, Signal Processing, Artificial Intelligence, Molecular modelling, as well as in novel methods of protein expression and purification.

Qualifications
To qualify as a postdoc, the applicant must have completed a Swedish doctoral degree or must have a foreign degree corresponding to a Swedish doctoral degree. You have a PhD in chemistry, physics, or biology and a solid background in solution state biomolecular NMR spectroscopy; knowledge in NMR theory and experiment. You are able to work independently. Good English and communication skills are required. Experience in experiment and analysis of protein dynamics by NMR, Unix/Linux system, programming (e.g. python, MATLAB, C), NMR signal processing, protein expression and purification, knowledge in other biophysical techniques and computational methods will be favourably considered.

Employment
The postion as Postdoc is fulltime, 100% during 2 years at the Department of Chemistry and Molecular Biology, NMR.
