The vision of the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences is to understand, explain and improve the world and the society we live in from a health and life-science perspective. Work at the faculty is guided by Linnaeus University's four core values: innovation, curiosity, proximity and benefit.The Department of Health and Caring Science conducts research and education in the area of health and care science and has about 100 employees divided equally between the campuses in Kalmar and Växjö. We are looking for more employees with commitment and creativity to help our work in developing activities.
Location, until further notice is Kalmar and the scope of the position is full-time fixed-term contract for a maximum of two years.
Duties
The main duties include research into the epidemiology of violence. In your job you are expected to participate actively in the Department's activities and spread your research internally and externally.
Teaching and tutoring amounts to a maximum of 20% of employment time.
Qualification requirements
Doctorate in medical science or health science or a foreign degree equivalent to a doctorate. The doctorate must have been awarded a maximum of three years before the application deadline. Good knowledge of Swedish and English. Applicants may not have been employed previously as a postdoctoral fellow for more than a year in the same or a related subject area at Linnaeus University. To be eligible for this position, knowledge of statistics and epidemiology is also required.
Assessment criteria
A good foundation in literature and theory formation within violence research would be an advantage.
For this position, applicants will be selected through a qualitative overall assessment of competence and ability. They will be deemed to have the best prerequisites for carrying out and developing the work tasks in question, as well as for contributing to the successful development of the organisation.
