Skilled and committed employees are a crucial factor in the success of Linköping University. And we need more of them. Our core expertise comes from teachers and researchers, but a successful university requires experienced and motivated employees in many fields. Everyone is important. We need to recruit many new employees due to retirement among our current staff and an expansion in our research activity. We need you here. We look forward to receiving your application!

The Department of Physics, Chemistry and Biology conducts research and offers education at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Research, the predominant activity, is often done in collaboration with corporate and international partners. We are one of the university's largest, oldest and most well known departments, encompassing five interacting scientific fields: biology, chemistry, material physics, applied physics and theory and modelling.

LINKÖPING UNIVERSITY
Hereby advertises a position as

Postdoctor in White light-emitting diodes (LEDs) based on organometal halide perovskites
formally based at the Department of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (IFM)

Duties
Semiconductors based on organometal halide perovskites have shown great success in photovoltaic applications, demonstrating high power conversion efficiency over 20%. At the same time, they also have a huge potential for the design of functional materials and devices with new properties. For example, they demonstrate strong electroluminescence and tunable emission energy, making them a promising candidate for efficient LEDs.

The scope of this project is to synthesize stable organometal halide perovskites with different bandgaps and to fabricate efficient LEDs with different colors, with the ambition to make white-light light-emitting diodes based on perovskites. The photo-physics of these novel materials and device physics will also be investigated.

About the group: The Gao group, financially supported by the ERC Starting Grant, works at the interfaces between physics, chemistry, and materials science, focusing on the development of novel optoelectronic devices for energy technologies. The materials under investigations include metal halide perovskites and organic semiconductors. All the research is conducted in co-operation with other universities/institutes.

A Postdoc will essentially carry out research. The position may also involve teaching, but during no more than a fifth of work time.

Qualifications
The position requires a doctorate in Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry or equivalent. The doctorate shall have been obtained no longer than three years before the expiration date of the application.

Appointment time
Two years.

Starting date
Earliest January 1, 2018

Salary
