Hereby advertises a position as
Postdoctor in Thin Film Physics
formally based at the Department of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (IFM).
Duties
The position concerns fundamental research in materials physics, and in particular experimental studies of laminated three- and two-dimensional metallic and ceramic materials, primarily so called MAX phases and respective MXenes. A focus is the synthesis of these materials (bulk synthesis, thin film synthesis, and chemical etching), evaluation of their structure and composition (XRD, SEM, EDX, XPS, TEM), as well as analysis of resulting properties.
An interest in nano science and fundamental understanding of materials is necessary for the position. The activities within the project will be closely connected to theoretical modeling.
A Postdoc will essentially carry out research. The position may also involve teaching, but during no more than a fifth of work time.
Qualifications
The position requires a doctorate or an equivalent degree from a foreign university. The doctorate shall have been obtained no longer than three years before the expiration date of the announcement.
Documented experience from activities mentioned under Duties as well as skills in writing/presentation will be considered as a requirement in the evaluation of applicants.
Appointment time
Two years.

By agreement.
