Job assignments
The project "ALUminium oXides for processing and products (ALUX)" is financed by the Swedish foundation of strategic research (SSF) is an effort to understand the oxidation and electrochemical anodization of aluminum with the goal to produce better aluminum products.
The work includes coordination of the research directed towards in situ studies of the oxidation and anodization of aluminum. The work includes constructing an electrochemical cell suitable for in situ diffraction in strong collaboration with other member groups including the member company SAPA. As the experiments generate a significant amount of data, a large amount of data analysis, including programming, is included in the work. Independent development work of advanced experimental equipment as well as of software is included in the work. The work includes a significant amount of travel, production of research reports and presenting research work at scientific conferences. Some supervision of PhD students is to be expected in the work.
Eligibility/Entry Requirements
A PhD in physics/chemistry/nanoscience is a condition. Very good knowledge in English is a condition. Documented scientific work and scientific production is a condition. Experience in synchrotron radiation work with an emphasis on electrochemistry is a merit. Experience in diffraction, preferably surface diffraction, but also bulk diffraction is a merit. Experience in programming skills is considered a merit.
The qualifications for academic positions are given in Chapter 4, Section 3-4 of the Higher Education Ordinance.
Basis of Assessment
The applicant must have a PhD degree in a subject relevant for the appointment. This position is a qualifying appointment focused on research, with intention to be an initial career step.
