Hereby advertises a position as
Postdoctor in Molecular Physics - Raman spectroscopy
formally based at the Department of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (IFM)
Duties
To develop methods for surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) based on metal nanoparticles, and the use of these for studies of organic materials at interfaces and in thin films. This particularly involves quantitative analysis, surface modification of the particles, and integration of particles in thin films for localized chemical analysis. At the division, many projects build on cross-disciplinary activities, and the work will be carried out within the framework of existing national and international collaborations.
A Postdoc will essentially carry out research. The position may also involve teaching, but during no more than a fifth of work time.
Qualifications
Applicants should have a background in vibrational spectroscopy, preferably Raman scattering, but also infrared spectroscopy is appropriate. Previous experience of surface chemistry, optical microscopy, or work with metal nanoparticles would be favourable, but not necessary. Fluency in English is desired.
The position requires a doctorate or an equivalent degree from a foreign university. The doctorate shall have been obtained no longer than three years before the expiration date of the application.
Appointment time
Two years.
Starting date
