Department of Clinical Neuroscience (CNS) conducts research and education in the field of neuroscience from the molecular level to the society level. The clinical research and education is conducted in collaboration with other research groups from the Karolinska Institutet, with other universities as well as the Stockholm County Council.

Rheumatoid Arthritis, Multiple Sclerosis and Inflammatory Myopathies are all chronic inflammatory diseases with strong HLA and autoimmune components in which the lung is a candidate site of disease initiation. At CMM we perform translational studies on T cell effector function in research samples donated by patients.

The candidate will extend on the ongoing efforts in understanding T cell driven immune responses in the respective disorders. The project will involve T cell cloning and utilization of MHC class II tetramer technology.

2 years with a possibility of extending for an additional 2 years

Qualifications
The candidate should have PhD in immunology and experience in T cell culturing as well as multiparameter flow cytometry. Applicants who have completed their doctoral degree no more than three years before the last date for applications should be given priority. Candidates who have completed their degree earlier than this should receive equal priority if special grounds exist. Applicants should have a strong research background in metabolism and/or immunology.

Postgraduates who have yet to graduate may apply if their dissertation is scheduled to take place within three months after the application deadline, in which case verification from the Dissertation Committee or equivalent body must be submitted with the application.
