At the Biomedical Science Department, we are running several projects with a strong focus on biosensor development. By means of electrochemical and acoustic setups, we have an interest in the detection of e.g., bacteria in biological fluids and foods and disease related low molecular weight biomarkers among others. We have an interest in extending this research field within the department and use chip-less RFID technology for the above-mentioned applications. Subsequently, we are looking for a highly qualified and independent postdoc that would develop this research direction. Specifically, the main tasks of the postdoc will be:
• To model, design and test chip-less RFID tags and antennas 1) for operation in liquids both in near field and far-field regimes and 2) that could be coupled with biosensor architectures already developed at the department.
• To model and quantitatively analyze experimental data. In this regard, it is expected that the postdoc will develop specific dedicated analysis software.
• Although not required from the start, as suitable network analyzers are already available at the department, it is anticipated that some of the applications will require at some point the development of specific RFID readers.
Apart from carrying out research within these areas the applicant is expected to take responsibility for the maintenance of the instruments involved and to be active by supervising postgraduate students and fellow scientists in the techniques, as well as participate in teaching at post graduate and graduate levels. Teaching at undergraduate level may also to some extent be required. In addition, the applicant should (when applicable) be responsible for contacts with involved industry partners and is also expected to take part in applications for external funding to support research activities.

Candidates must hold a PhD in Physics/engineering with a proven expertise in RFID technology, ideally by an excellent track of publications/patents. Specifically, the main criteria that will be assessed will be:
• Ability to design, model (by means of e.g., Comsol or similar softwares) and quantitatively analyze chip-less RFID systems.
Additionally, the criteria listed below will also be considered:
• Ability to develop analysis software in e.g., Matlab, C/C++, Phyton or any other suitable language.
• Ability to design control interfaces e.g., by means of Labview.
• Ability to use 3D printers.
• Experience in electrical circuit design.
Finally, documented excellent level of English (understanding, speaking and writing) is essential. The candidate should also have the ability to work in a team and collaborate with people in complementary disciplines. Previous experience from working in research projects that involved both industry and academia is highly valued.

Malmö University is one of Sweden's largest universities with approximately 25 000 students.
