Energy consumption in residential buildings is one of the most energy-demanding sectors. European housing needs to store and reduce energy for heating. However, most improvements are today based on non-renewable materials. The postdoctoral position is linked to a study with partners from Austria, Italy, Sweden, and Turkey on options for renewable energy storage and insulation technologies.
The postdoc will perform data collection and analyses of potential value stream designs and market development for biobased energy storage and insulation in different countries. Market actor attitudes and views towards insulation and energy savings will be studied.
The research involves qualitative interviews with stakeholders, and survey studies in different countries. This data will be analyzed using business analysis methods. The research will generate an understanding of sustainable business strategies to expand the use of biobased insulation and energy storage materials.
