We work within the field of supramolecular chemistry, and are particularly interested in controlling the rate and selectivity of chemical reactions under confinement. About the research project
In this project, you will explore the differences in how photochemical reactions proceed in solution and under spatial confinement within coordination cages, with an emphasis on the synthesis of pharmaceutical building blocks containing four-membered heterocycles.
Who we are looking for
The applicant for this postdoctoral research position should have a doctoral degree in chemistry awarded no more than three years prior to the application deadline*, or an equivalent qualification. Previous experience in supramolecular chemistry, organic synthesis, and/or host-guest chemistry is desirable. As the candidate will need to interact with an interdisciplinary team, they will also need excellent communication skills and an interest for interdisciplinary research. Moreover, it is important that the candidate is able to communicate effectively in written and spoken English
*The date on your doctoral degree certificate is considered the official date of completion. Exceptions to the three-year eligibility limit may be made for documented circumstances such as parental leave, sick leave, or military service.
What you will do
The candidate is expected to work independently, in collaboration with members of the group, and within the group's wider collaborative network. The candidate will also have the opportunity to supervise master's and/or PhD students to a certain extent.
Contract terms
The position is a temporary full-time employment for two years.
The position requires physical presence throughout the entire employment. A valid residence permit must be presented by the start date, otherwise the offer may be withdrawn.
