Area of responsibilities/description of the work
We are looking for a motivated, knowledgeable new team member who is eager to continue his/her career in population-based research.
Our interdisciplinary team at Karolinska Institutet has competencies in epidemiology, statistics, psychology, nutrition, medicine and health care sciences. The specific research program focuses on health habits, overweight, and participation in society among individuals with mobility disabilities. The research programme, which is funded for six years, covers population-based register studies, and an intervention study. Recruitment of two new PhD students to the research program is ongoing. The new postdoc will have coordinating functions and may get supervisory responsibilities. The research program will be carried out in collaboration with a team at Vårdalinstitutet, Lund University.
Qualifications
To qualify, the applicant must hold a doctoral degree or a foreign qualification deemed equivalent to a doctorate. A person is eligible for a postdoc position if he or she has obtained a PhD no more than five years before the last date of employment as postdoc. Applicants who have completed their degree no more than three years before the last date for applications will be given priority. Candidates who have completed their degree earlier than this will receive equal priority if special reasons exist.
A doctoral degree in medicine, epidemiology, public health, psychology, sociology or a comparable discipline is required.
Solid knowledge and skills in epidemiological and relevant statistical methods is required. Experience from epidemiological research based on national registers with data on health, diseases, disabilities and socio-economic circumstances are highly relevant. Good team working skills as well as fluency in spoken and written Swedish and English are required.
