The Department of Computer Science at Karlstad University, Sweden, has an opening for a post-doctoral research fellow in the field of computer networking. The position is a full time position. The starting date for the position is by mutual agreement within the time span February 1, 2013 and May 1, 2013.
The post-doctoral fellow will work in the regional project Compare Business Innovation Centre (C-BIC) phase 3, and the main focuses are on software testing and related topics. We are currently participating in quality assurance work for health systems, with a focus on automating and generating test suites for databases, and making test assessments and improvements in collaboration with a wide variety of companies and public authorities. We are focusing on both functional and non-functional test design techniques, e.g., robustness and fault-injection, as well as exploring use-cases and requirements to improve testability of systems.
Requirements
To be eligible for the position, applicants are required to hold a PhD in Computer Science with a specialization in Software Testing or Software Engineering or have corresponding qualifications. The candidate must have completed the degree no more than three years before the last date for applications, unless special grounds exist. Good oral and written communication skills in English are required.

In the assessment procedure, emphasis will be given to the applicant's scientific experience in relation to software testing in which the applicant is expected to work. Knowledge or experience in some of the areas of quality assurance, software test automation, requirement handling, mathematical statistics and empirical methods, is an advantage. Experience with tools for testing and evaluation and good programming skills is a benefit.
Strong motivation and the ability to work independently as well as to collaborate with other researchers are important characteristics. Experience from participating in national and international research is an advantage.
