The focus of the Department of Immunotechnology is spanning from advanced technology developments to biomedicine research.
The main research areas are oncology, hypersensitivity and antibody engineering. Our research employs advanced technologies including genomics and transcriptomics, large-scale mass spectrometry-based proteomics, affinity proteomics, phage display, and associated bioinformatics. In addition, we provide genomics and proteomics services, and our antibody development platform has been integrated into SciLifeLab's Drug Discovery and Development Platform. The department is also responsible for several student courses and it is of priority to offer high quality education at undergraduate and postgraduate level. The Department of Immunotechnology has a strong history of entrepreneurship and several companies have derived from the department. The application of advanced technologies to solve complex biomedical challenges has taken the department to the forefront in several research areas.
We are now seeking a highly motivated and ambitious individual to join the research group of Prof. Malin Lindstedt as a Postdoctoral Fellow to develop next-generation cancer immunotherapies targeting dendritic cells. The position is open for 2 years at Department of Immunotechnology, Lund University.
Work duties
The post-doc will perform research in cellular immunology, with a focus on dendritic cell biology in cancer. Various methodologies will be used for isolation of cells, biomarker identification, and studies of activation and internalization of antigen. The post-doc is also expected to participate in group activities, present the research at the institution and on conferences, and participate in supervision of graduate and undergraduate students.
Qualification requirements

The candidate should be able to independently drive projects and interact smoothly and efficient with a network of scientists with different background. As reporting in peer review journals is an essential part of the project, a strong publication record is required. Experience from multiparameter flow cytometry, cell sorting and purification of primary cells, in vitro cell culture etc are considered meriting. Flexible work hours are required (including occasional weekends) and some national/international travel may be required.

- Experience with in vitro methods for investigating human cellular, tissue or organ systems (e.g immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, ELISA, biochemical assays, etc.)
- In vitro and/or ex vivo model development, characterization, and standardization
Experience with complex scientific instrumentation (HPLC, flow cytometry, multiplexing, imaging, etc.) is desired
- Able to communicate effectively across language, cultural, or other barriers
- Ability to manage projects with minimal guidance
- Grant-writing experience
Assessment criteria and other qualifications
This is a career development position primarily focused on research. The position is intended as an initial step in a career, and the assessment of the applicants will primarily be based on their research qualifications and potential as researchers.
