Our projects elucidate how properties such as taste, flavor and texture depend on physical and chemical properties, processing and how humans perceive them. We use our unique competence to tailor microstructures with desired functionality for industry and in research challenges. Sensory panels, instrumental aroma determination by GC-MS-O and consumer studies are utilized in combination with advanced microscopy and material science and correlated with food oral processing, consumer preferences and trends.
Job Description
You will work in a team of chemistry and sensory scientists evaluating the relationship between chemical characteristics and sensory perception of food matrices. Your work will involve sample preparation, mix chemicals, solve technical problems with preparation and sampling. Plan a project in order to reply with a quotation/application, setting up chromatographic methods for volatile compounds detection and quantification and establishing odor profiles using GC-O are also part of your job. You will also expand the scientific aspects of the area and write research applications, perform research projects alongside with performing sensory evaluations, writing, quotations and technical/scientific reports.
Job Requirements
We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher (junior or senior) with experience in GC-MS-O. It is a must to have high knowledge on food chemistry and multivariate statistical methods. You have a PhD in relating chemistry and sensory properties and you master statistical softwares such as Statistica and XLStat. You are used to reporting in English and it is an advantage if you also master Swedish.
The position is for one year and starts from August 15th. The position will be located in Gothenburg.
