Centre for Health Metrics is a part of the Institute of Medicine at University of Gothenburg. The unit has a faculty assignment for the Sahlgrenska Academy, where the team coordinates and provides training at all levels of applied statistics and health economics as well as contributing with expertise in other research groups within the Academy and the Sahlgrenska University Hospital. The Unit for Health metrics also coordinates a network of statisticians at the Sahlgrenska Academy with seminars and own research. Both courses and research is highly interdisciplinary and conducted in close collaboration with other professionals such as doctors, pharmacists, nurses, psychologists, behavioral scientists, chemists and others. We often work with large epidemiological population studies, but also with smaller intervention studies.

Beskrivning av arbetsuppgifter:
Specific subject description: Health Science Statistics is referred to applications and development of statistical methods within the health sciences. Job assignments: The position involves independent work to plan and implement training in applied statistics. Work in applied medical research and in the register-based studies constitute a large part of the job, where planning of studies, results processing and programming are central tasks. Research in statistical methods may be included in various Projects.
Beskrivning av kvalifikationer:
Eligibility: PhD in Statistics, Mathematical Statistics or equivalent. Primarily applicants who have obtained a doctorate or equivalent qualification within seven years before the application deadline will be considered. Assessment: Primarily teaching skills, where experience of statistics teaching at university level is particularly meritorious. Secondly, scientific skills where proven ability to obtain research funding, develop and manage personnel, and ability to inform about research is desirable, as well as documented experience of participation in medical research and knowledge of programming in SAS or STATA. The work requires good knowledge in both Swedish and English in speech and writing. Applicants without formal training in university pedagogics are expected to undergo such courses within one year from the employment commenced.
